Venezuelan Waltzes and Joropos
He has performed as a soloist with major orchestras throughout Latin America, the United States, Europe, and in the former Soviet Union. Reviewers have noted the “great precision, sensitivity, and transparent quality” of his performances. Composer Aram Khachaturian, attending one of his Moscow concerts called him “a very sensitive pianist and an extraordinary accompanist.”

In Venezuelan Waltzes and Joropos, Gallastegui brings together waltzes he originally recorded in Venezuela in the 1970s with new selections recorded in 2005. The collection, including a waltz composed by the pianist, represents some of the most enjoyable music of this genre, played with Gallastegui’s impeccable style and polish.  Please click here for a brochure on this recording or visit Josu's page at CDBaby.com for more information.
